Minister of Social Solidarity from Amman: Arab cohesion is our fortress in the face of crises

Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, Head of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, reaffirmed Egypt’s firm position in supporting the steadfastness of the brothers in Palestine, and standing by every Arab country facing exceptional challenges.
This came during her participation in the work of the 45th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, hosted by the Jordanian capital, Amman, in the presence of Wafa Bani Mustafa, Jordanian Minister of Social Development, Chair of the current session, And Osama bin Saleh Al-Alawi, Minister of Social Development of the Kingdom of Bahrain, President of the 44th session, and Minister Plenipotentiary Tariq Al-Nabulsi, responsible for the technical secretariat of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, along with Arab ministers of social affairs. Historically Egyptian, rooted and steadfast over many decades, since 1948, Egypt has never hesitated to intensify its humanitarian operations towards our brothers in Palestine, including mobilizing humanitarian, social, medical and relief aid, and evacuating the wounded and sick, confirming that its humanitarian commitment is a matter of principle.
The Minister of Social Solidarity, Head of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, expressed her Her happiness to participate in the work of the 45th session of the Council, stressing the continuation of the process of joint Arab action, keeping in mind the Arab human being and protecting the social and moral security of our societies.
The Minister of Social Solidarity explained that this session witnesses Arab pride in the humanitarian epic that the Egyptian Red Crescent has written in support of the brothers in the Gaza Strip, especially since the start of the flow of humanitarian aid in July 2025, when the Crescent launched The Egyptian Red “Zad Al-Izza” convoys from Egypt to Gaza, which have so far reached 95 convoys in four months, bringing the total humanitarian aid implemented to about 730 thousand tons since October 8, 2023, including aid provided by the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, the Council of Arab Ministers of Health, United Nations agencies, sister Arab countries, and foreign countries. She added that the convoys are currently focusing on winter supplies of tents, blankets, covers and winter clothes, to confront the cold weather waves inside the Strip, in light of the harsh humanitarian conditions.
She indicated that from the first moments of the crisis in the Gaza Strip, Egypt has turned into a global logistical center for managing and coordinating humanitarian aid, with direct guidance and full support from the political leadership, President Abdel Fattah. El-Sisi.
Dr. Maya Morsi confirmed that Egypt was honored this year to cooperate with the League of Arab States in hosting the Arab Day for the Elderly celebration, “Giving Continues,” under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. It also recently hosted “the Conference on Implementing the Arab Plan for Prevention and Reducing the Danger of Drugs to Arab Society from a Social Perspective,” in cooperation with the Technical Secretariat of the Council and with the participation of A broad Arab community, including the foundations for a unified Arab mechanism for early prevention and the exchange of experiences in the fields of treatment and rehabilitation, with a focus on the Egyptian model of community integration of those who have recovered and combating synthetic drugs, in addition to preparing to host the “mechanism for linking banks and social development institutions in the Arab countries” in 2026.
She stressed that social development is not complete. Except by empowering the most vulnerable groups economically, and transforming cash support programs into small and micro development projects that enhance the economic independence of Arab families, inspired by the “Decent Life” initiative as an Arab model that is applicable and expandable, while emphasizing that the family remains the basic pillar for developing societies and protecting them from intrusive ideas and cyber threats.
The Minister of Social Solidarity concluded, Head of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, she stressed that the challenges are great, but the will for joint Arab action is greater, stressing that Egypt will spare no effort in supporting every initiative that raises the status of the Arab person and preserves his dignity, and called on member states to participate in the International Forum for Social Protection scheduled to be held in Egypt in 2026.
