Minister of Investment to MPs: We aim to strengthen the role of the private sector as a major partner in development

Engineer Hassan Al-Khatib presented the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade before the plenary session of the House of Representatives.

 The most prominent features of the vision and strategy of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade under the new government, after merging the investment and foreign trade portfolios into one ministry, which reflects the state’s belief in the importance of integration between investment and foreign trade as a basic pillar for achieving sustainable economic development and enhancing the competitiveness of the economy. The Minister affirmed his appreciation for the prominent role assigned to the esteemed House of Representatives in exercising its constitutional duties, noting that the effective efforts made and presented by this House reflect a deep belief in its responsibility to carry out the legislative and oversight role in a manner befitting one of the oldest and most prestigious parliaments. The world.

 

Al-Khatib said: The Ministry’s strategy aims to work to create a more competitive and attractive investment climate for local and foreign investments, based on transparency and clarity, providing a supportive institutional and legislative environment, improving the business environment, simplifying procedures and removing obstacles facing investors, while strengthening the role of the private sector as a major partner in development.< /span>.

 

The minister added that the ministry seeks to encourage Egyptian exports and increase their global competitiveness by improving trade policies, adopting effective mechanisms to develop foreign trade, and encouraging value-added national industries .

 

 Al-Khatib indicated: In light of the rapid developments that the world is witnessing, especially during the last decade, including geopolitical and economic events, many challenges have emerged that affect the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy and its ability to attract investments, pointing out that the vision of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade came in order to strengthen the position of Egypt as a regional and international center for investment and trade.
