The Coordination Committee receives the Minister of Health and the Head of the Doctors Syndicate

The Youth Parties and Politicians Coordination received Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, and also received Dr. Osama Abdel-Hay, Head of the Doctors Syndicate, in order to hear all the fundamental opinions and proposals on the draft medical liability law, as the Minister expressed his openness to all opinions and study them. The head of the Doctors Syndicate also expressed his full readiness to discuss all proposals in order to reach a balanced law.

The Youth Coordination of Parties and Politicians invited its parliamentary body to meet to study Proposals and presenting all points of view, as the parliamentary body recommended during its meeting the necessity of working and studying the union’s proposals regarding adding the definition of serious error to the law, and considering the Supreme Committee for Medical Liability as the technical expert for the investigation and litigation authorities, provided that the lawsuit is not filed except after the issuance of that committee’s report, in light of Article 189 of the Constitution, which states:

 

"The Public Prosecution is an integral part of the judiciary. It is responsible for investigating, filing, and conducting criminal cases, except for The law excludes it, and the law determines its other powers.” As well as amending the pretrial detention article in the Medical Liability Law by providing alternatives to pretrial detention in the event that matters arise, or deleting the article from the law.

The Coordination Council appreciates the government’s position in its expression of readiness to study All proposals are consistent with the constitution, and it confirms that it will remain a dialogue platform that accommodates all opinions and points of view.

This comes within the framework of the coordination’s endeavor to bring viewpoints closer together on The Medical Liability Law, and the comments raised about it.
