Russia calls for an end to hostilities and escalation against Yemen

Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, called on all parties participating in the aggressive actions against Yemen to exercise restraint and refrain from escalatory steps.
Nebenzia, in his speech during the Security Council session, was described by a news agency. Russian Sputnik reported on Monday that the military actions carried out by Israel and the US-led coalition in Yemen are “deliberate escalation.”
Nebenzia continued: “It is difficult to describe the actions of Israel and the Anglo-Saxon coalition as anything other than a deliberate escalation that led to civilian casualties in Yemen, and regardless of whether they were of a retaliatory nature, the extent of the destruction cannot be measured,” stressing that measures must be taken to protect the Yemenis. Ordinary people and humanitarian workers.
Israel had bombed the international airport and other sites in Sanaa and Hodeidah Governorate in western Yemen, killing six people and wounding 40 others. Among them is a crew member on the UN plane carrying WHO Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus.
