Emirates Airlines operates an additional flight to Colombo

Emirates Airlines, the largest international air carrier in the world, announced the operation of an additional flight between Colombo and Dubai, starting January 2, 2025. The new flight will contribute to increasing the seat capacity on this route by 30% and supports Sri Lanka’s plans to significantly increase the number of inbound tourism in the country. Year 2025.
The additional flight will operate six times a week until March 31, 2025, when flight No. EK654 will take off from Dubai International Airport at 10:05 (daily except Wednesday) and arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo at 16:00. The return flight EK655 will depart Bandaranaike International Airport at 22:05, arriving at Dubai International Airport at 01:05 the next morning.
Starting April 1, 2025, Emirates Airlines will operate a seventh weekly flight on Wednesdays with a modified departure time, as it will take off from Dubai at 1:20 p.m., arriving in Colombo at 19:15 p.m., while the return flight will take off from Bandaranaike Airport at 22:05 p.m., arriving in Dubai at 00:00 p.m. :55 the next morning. (All times are in Dubai and Colombo local time).
The additional flight accommodates up to 360 passengers, and is divided into 8 suites in first class, 42 seats in business class, and 310 seats in economy class, providing a distinguished customer experience while enhancing comfort and options through an expanded flight schedule. Emirates currently operates two direct flights between Dubai and Colombo and a third daily flight via Male.
Long strategic partnership
Emirates Airlines has a long-term strategic partnership with the Sri Lanka Tourism Authority, with both parties collaborating on initiatives and programs designed to enhance tourism in Sri Lanka by showcasing the destination to customers across its global network.
The Sri Lanka Tourism Authority recently announced its vision to attract environmentally conscious travelers by highlighting the island’s rich natural and cultural resources. Moreover, by increasing the capacity on the Dubai-Colombo route, Emirates will contribute to achieving the country’s tourism goals of attracting 3 million visitors by 2025.
Emirates began operations to Sri Lanka in April 1986, supporting the country’s tourism and export industries with passenger and cargo services. The carrier has transported more than 12 million passengers to and from Colombo since the start of operations. With the four daily flights, Emirates will offer more than 2,800 seats daily to and from Colombo and up to 160 tons of cargo on the same flights.
