The Red Crescent in the city receives (123,526) reports in 2024

The branch of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Medina region, represented by the Medical Deportation Center, according to its statistics for the year 2024, received 572,738 calls, resulting in 123,526 reports. The ambulance teams dealt with 90,913 patients, and 56,862 patients were transferred to hospitals to receive the necessary medical care, while the ambulance service was provided to 34 046 patients at the report site without the need for transportation. The air ambulance also dealt with 256 patients were in emergency condition, which reflects the efforts made to provide urgent care in the most difficult circumstances. Pathways for heart attacks and strokes were also activated for 836 patients, in a notable achievement that reflects the efficiency and professionalism of the ambulance teams in dealing with critical cases.

The authority confirmed that these operations were carried out by specialized medical personnel trained to the highest standards and using modern medical equipment provided by ambulances.

In terms of training, the Authority implemented 959 training courses and lectures that benefited 154,947 people, with the aim of enhancing community awareness of first aid methods and increasing individuals’ readiness to deal with emergencies. In the field of volunteering, the year witnessed the participation of more than 28,600 volunteers, whose total volunteer hours amounted to 14,189,129 hours, with an economic value exceeding 110,490,127 Saudi riyals, which reflects a significant societal impact and continuous efforts to enhance the culture of volunteering.

Among the most prominent achievements achieved by the branch during the year was the inauguration by His Highness the Emir of the Medina Region of the new ambulance service model, which represents a qualitative development in the provision of ambulance services in accordance with the best international standards. The authority was also able to achieve response time targets of 110%, which reflects the speed and efficiency of dealing. With emergency reports.

The Saudi Red Crescent Authority stresses the importance of requesting emergency service when there is an emergency by calling 997, or by requesting emergency service through the “Help Me” application, which saves a lot of time and effort.
