Addressing 194 challenges facing factories during 2024

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, represented by the Department of Industrial Affairs of the Industrial Services Agency, carried out field visits to micro, small and medium factories, covering approximately 1,000 during the year 2024.
This comes to monitor the challenges of expansion and growth in them, and to work on developing innovative solutions that address the challenges of these factories by the industrial system, in a way that stimulates their expansion and growth of their products, and contributes to enhancing industrial development in the Kingdom.

Factories challenges

The Department of Industrial Affairs works to implement its visits by adopting a quarterly schedule that covers all industrial cities in the regions of the Kingdom. The mechanism for scheduling factory visits depends on reports received regarding factory challenges to the Partners Communication Center, the Industrial Council, and the Ministry’s branches around the Kingdom, in addition to the challenges observed during the visits of the Ministry’s leaders. And their meetings with factory owners.
The department’s work includes documenting the challenges in the Ministry’s digital platform, and following up on their treatment and completion of their solutions until the stage of acceptance and factories benefiting from them.
The Ministry noted that 194 challenges have been resolved and that the relevant factories have been notified of the solutions, while work is still underway to address 537 challenges by the departments concerned with the industrial and mining system.

Observed challenges

The most prominent challenges observed include addressing unlicensed manufacturing operations; To ensure fair competition, improve the level of costs, and increase the level of control of import operations for products that are manufactured in the Kingdom in large quantities, in addition to deepening the requirements of the mandatory list to include manufacturing parts in supply chains and not being satisfied with the final product, and providing an effective and easy mechanism to enhance the working capital of factories through financing Invoices for raw materials.
