America accuses Sudanese Rapid Support of committing “genocide”

On Tuesday, the United States accused the Rapid Support Forces, which have been waging a war against the army in Sudan since 2023, of committing “genocide” in the Darfur region, and of “systematically” killing men and raping women because of their ethnicity.
Washington also announced the imposition of sanctions on the commander of the support forces, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as “Hemedti,” and seven companies linked to his forces, accusing them of participating in financing them and purchasing military equipment for them, and subsequently contributing to “the continuation of the conflict in Sudan” that broke out in April 2023.
