So beautiful.. a nursing student wins the title of Miss America 2025 (photos)

The new Miss America was crowned by a nursing student and cheerleader at Auburn University, Abby Stockard.

The 22-year-old was chosen as Miss Alabama last June, before her final year of college.

Stockard beat out 51 other candidates from every US state, in addition to Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico, during the annual competition held in Orlando, Florida, last Sunday.

Annette Ado-Yobo, the first foreign-born contestant to win Miss Texas, was chosen as runner-up, with contestants from Tennessee, Florida and Ohio occupying the remaining top five spots.

In a video shown during the contest, Stockard said she felt inspired by her mother, who worked multiple jobs, and her best friend, who has cystic fibrosis, and was in attendance Sunday night (Stockard’s charitable initiative for the contest raised money for cystic fibrosis research). (CNN)
