Pure fantasy.. TikTok refuses to comment on the news of Musk purchasing its American branch

TikTok rejected information circulating that the Chinese authorities were considering the possibility of Elon Musk buying its branch in the United States if the popular platform was banned in this country by the end of the week, and described it as “pure fantasy.”

Confidential sources told Bloomberg Economic News on Monday that “senior Chinese officials have begun discussing contingency plans for TikTok as part of broad discussions on how to work with the Donald Trump administration, one of which includes Musk.”

A TikTok spokeswoman told AFP: “You can’t expect us to comment on pure fiction.”

TikTok banned in America

Last year, the United States passed a law forcing the Chinese entertainment giant, ByteDance, to sell TikTok by January 19.
