Shabab Al-Ahly is champion of the UAE Challenge Shield

The Shabab Al-Ahly team was crowned champion of the Emirates-Qatari Challenge Shield, after defeating Al-Rayyan of Qatar, 3-1, today, Thursday, at Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium in Doha.

Youri Cesar opened the scoring for Shabab Al-Ahly in the 28th minute with a wonderful direct shot from inside the penalty area after a low pass from Guillerme Bala.

But Roger Guedes, Al Rayyan striker, made a wonderful individual effort and bypassed the defenders on the right side before passing the ball into the penalty area, so that Renan Victor, Shabab Al Ahly defender, put it into his team’s goal.

Sardar Azmoun scored the winning goal for Shabab Al-Ahly seven minutes after the end of the break, after Bala received the ball in the middle of the field and advanced it brilliantly before passing it to the unmarked Iranian striker, who easily put the ball into the net.

Bala made his scoring mark in stoppage time, after a counterattack that saw three Shabab Al-Ahly players alone on goal before the ball reached Bala, who easily put the ball into the goal.
