Djibouti calls for exercising restraint and giving priority to calm efforts in Sudan

Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh called for protecting the rights of civilians in Sudan and preventing further escalation of the conflict, warning of its potential effects on neighboring countries.

Ismail Omar Guelleh, who holds the position of Chairman of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government, said: The Intergovernmental Organization for Development in East Africa (IGAD) – in a statement, today, Sunday – “Djibouti calls on all parties to exercise restraint and give priority to de-escalation efforts… We reaffirm our commitment to peace, and call for An immediate end to the conflict in Sudan through a comprehensive dialogue that preserves the unity, security and stability of this brotherly country”
