2026.. Hosting a regular global meeting of the Economic Forum in the Kingdom

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the World Economic Forum in Davos announced that they will host a regular high-level global meeting of the forum in Riyadh, with the date set for the first half of 2026.
The joint announcement was made by the Minister of Economy and Planning, Professor Faisal bin Fadel Al-Ibrahim, and the President of the World Economic Forum, Borg Brende, on the last day of the fifty-fifth session of the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in, Switzerland.

A global platform that brings together world leaders

The regular global meeting of the World Economic Forum will be a global platform that brings together world leaders, experts, policy and decision makers from various fields.
Including the public and private sectors, in addition to the participation of academic circles, international organizations, and civil society organizations, to discuss the various challenges facing our world.
The Minister of Economy and Planning, Mr. Faisal bin Fadel Al-Ibrahim, said: “Hosting a regular global meeting of the World Economic Forum in the Kingdom represents a testament to its distinguished role as a global platform for dialogue, cooperation and innovation, a role that the World Economic Forum continues to play.”
He continued: “At this critical stage that the global economy is going through, we not only draw inspiration from the opportunities available to us, but we are fully confident that our joint efforts will lead to a brighter, more inclusive and more prosperous future for all.
He added: “We look forward to welcoming the global community back to the Kingdom in the first half of 2026.”

World Economic Forum

In turn, President of the World Economic Forum, Borg Brende, said: “The World Economic Forum looks forward to returning to the Kingdom in 2026.
He stated that the conclusion of the fifty-fifth session of the World Economic Forum with this announcement puts us on an advanced path for the coming years, which are years that will witness great challenges. Because the progress we will make over the coming months will not only deliver results in the near term, but will define our course for many years to come.”
This new development strengthens the Kingdom’s position as a major party in shaping the global agenda. This is based on the Kingdom’s success in hosting the special meeting of the World Economic Forum, which was held in Riyadh in April of last year 2024.

This announcement also confirms the Kingdom’s bold leadership style and its determination to promote global dialogues between developed and developing economies and advance comprehensive global development, making it the ideal host to address various complex global challenges in cooperation with the World Economic Forum community.
