For its part, a member of the Federal National Council, Sumaya Abdullah Al -Suwaidi, commented that “this initiative announced by the ministry during the participation in the first world summit for the global school meals alliance in Paris with the participation of 70 countries, and aims to obtain every student in the school by 2030, During this initiative and the coalition that the state joined, school feeding programs witnessed a significant expansion of the number of children benefiting from 388 million in 2020, to 418 million in 2022, and school feeding was linked to the sustainable development goals.

This is a strategic commitment that is in line with global and regional practices in the field of proper nutrition, and the Ministry announced in the initiative as ambitious goals by supplying 70% of food resources from local sources, which will contribute to supporting the local economy, and employing the citizen workforce, and this initiative is a national necessity and a step Important to address many challenges, whether healthy, environmental, social or economic.
