Russia and Ukraine exchange 300 prisoners of war

Moscow announced on Wednesday that it had exchanged with Kiev 150 prisoners of war of Ukrainian military for a similar number of Russian military, in one of the few issues that the two warring countries managed to cooperate with them until now.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said that 150 of its soldiers detained in Ukraine were exchanged for 150 prisoners of war on the other side.
She pointed out that the Russian soldiers are now in Belarus, the close ally of Russia and the neighbor of the two countries, to receive “psychological and medical care”, and added that the exchange process came as a result of a “negotiation process.”

For his part, Ukrainian President Folodimir Zellinski wrote on Telegram: “Today is a beautiful day for all of us,” and added: “We are recovering 150 families in Russia from defenders of us.”
Zelinski explained that the released military personnel include “soldiers, captains and officers”, some of whom have been detained in Russia for more than two years.
Russia and Ukraine indicated on Wednesday that the exchange process took place with the participation of the UAE, which plays an active role in the talks and the prisoners ’exchange deals between Kiev and Moscow and is also medium to return Ukrainian children from Russia to their country.
