Happy to meet .. Putin looks positively to his discussions with Trump in Riyadh

Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed the resumption of the upcoming Russian -American dialogue in Riyadh, and said he was looking positive, welcoming the fact that there is a good result.
He continued: I will be happy to meet Donald Trump, and I think he will also be happy, but I cannot determine when such a meeting can be organized.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and American Marco Rubio met in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the first meeting on this level since the start of the invasion war in February 2022.
Speaking to Russian television, Putin said he had positively valued these discussions, welcome as a first step.
He added: Without enhancing confidence between Russia and the United States, it is impossible to solve several problems, including the Ukrainian crisis.

Resuming natural diplomatic work

The Russian president said: We agreed to resume natural diplomatic work. We have taken the first step to resume work in various fields.

He added: The goal and issue of our negotiations was to restore Russian -American relations, and to enhance confidence between Russia and the United States.
He pointed out that his country never refused to negotiate with Ukraine, and continued: Our partners in these negotiations are the ones who refused, the Europeans stopped all contacts with Russia, and the Ukrainian side refused to negotiate.
He stressed that no one excludes Ukraine from this process.
