Trump called on his Ukrainian counterpart Folodimir Zellinski to make “concessions”, while the latter said he did not want to do so with the “killer” Vladimir Putin.

“There is no agreement without concessions. Therefore, there will definitely be needed to make concessions, but I hope it will not be large as some believe,” Trump said, while welcoming Zelinski at the Oval Office for talks.
Zelinski replied that Ukraine will not “bargain with a killer on our lands”, referring to the Russian president. “I think President Trump is standing in our ranks,” he added.
Also, Trump said that the ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia was “relatively close”, and praised “a very fair agreement” regarding the exploitation of Ukrainian minerals.

The exploitation of strategic metals in Ukraine

The two presidents are expected to sign a framework agreement on exploiting strategic minerals in Ukraine and discussing possible security guarantees for Ukraine after the war with Russia ended.
In this regard, President Zellinski, who invited his American counterpart to visit in Ukraine, said it is vital for Washington to guarantee the security of any future peacekeeping force in his country.
“This is vital, this is what we want to talk about, this is very important,” Zilinski said at the White House.
