Consumer prices in Korea increased by 2% during February

Seoul on March 6/ WAM/ Consumer prices in the Republic of Korea increased by 2% for the second month in a row last February, according to data issued today by the Korean Statistics Agency.
The Korean News Agency “Yonhap” reported that consumer prices, which is a major measure of inflation, increased by 2% on an annual basis in February 2025, and this comes after an increase of 2.2% year on year in January 2025, the highest annual increase since last July.
The inflation rate in Korea has remained less than 3% since last April, and less than the goal of the Korean Central Bank of 2% since last September, when it grew by 1.6% on an annual basis, while declining to 1.3% last October before increasing slightly to 1.5% in the following month, and reached 1.9% last December.
