After the bloody attacks, the Mertz government tightens the rules of immigration in Germany
The partners declared that they designed a 11 -page joint document after reconnaissance consultations, to be a base for detailed negotiations to form a coalition government by Easter.
Tightening migration rules
At the heart of this agreement, a huge investment program with hundreds of billions of euros is intended for re -armament and infrastructure, in addition to a settlement on the issue of immigration, which has so far caused divisions.
And between the procedures, “the removal of illegal immigrants to the common border, including asylum applications (…) in agreement with our European neighbors,” Conservative leader announced to reporters in Berlin.

Border controls
He added: “Since the first day of our joint government, we will significantly enhance the border controls, and thanks to which we will also significantly increase the number of deportations.”
The governor, whose camp won the legislative elections on February 23: “We want to take all necessary legal measures to reduce illegal immigration in general.”
Immigration issue
The issue of immigration was largely dominated by the election campaign, after several bloody attacks by foreigners, some of whom were in an illegal situation in Germany and often suffer from mental disorders.
These attacks that rocked Germany contributed to the rise of the alternative for the right -wing and anti -immigrant Germany party, which recorded the best result in its history with 20% of the votes.
Asylum requests
The largest economy in Europe received more than a million refugees, including many Syrians and Afghans, during the immigration crisis in 2015-2016, when Angela Merkel was a advisor.
The country has since been seeking to reduce the number of asylum applications, including during the term of outgoing adviser Olaf Schultz, who also wanted to accelerate the expulsion of foreigners committing crimes.
Asylum seekers
Meretz says the immigration restriction policy alone is able to effectively curb the alternative for Germany.
On Saturday, he announced that his government will suspend the reunification of people who are entitled to obtain secondary protection, that is, the rejected asylum seekers, but they cannot be deported because their country is considered dangerous.
Meretz said that the federal police will be authorized to detention from the foreigners who are required to leave the country to ensure their deportation.
