Metal Park launches the metal storage center in Kizad, at a value of 110 million dirhams

Abu Dhabi, March 10/ WAM/ The Khalifa Economic areas Abu Dhabi – Kizad Group and Metal Park announced the launch of the first phase of the developed mineral storage center at the Metal Complex in Kizad, which will provide global level storage solutions and integrated support services for companies operating in the mineral sector in the region.
Metal Park aims to complete the metal storage center within the Kizad Free Zone in three stages at a cost of 110 million dirhams, and its total storage capacity will reach 350 thousand metric tons in addition to 54 thousand cubic meters of metal storage shelves.
The center is the first of its kind in the world with the “payment by use” system in the metal sector, in addition to being the first fully dedicated warehouse for storing metal.
The first phase of the project extends over an area of 93 thousand square meters, and will include 26 upper cranes with a capacity of 40 metric tons, in addition to 55 loading platforms for trucks and self -driving vehicles “AGVS”, which allows handling of 48 thousand metric tons per day.
The center is also characterized by other advanced technologies that include vertical storage, loading trucks with the “cantilever” kabuli system, and three bridge scales – two of them with a length of 15 meters, and one of them reaches 150 metric tons, and another balance of 30 meters, and its capacity reaches 150 meters, and the metal storage center is characterized by a closed complex and equipped with the latest monitoring and security in the city the hour.
The center has a strategic location in the Kizad Group’s free zone, which facilitates direct access to Khalifa Port through the road designated for huge structures, as well as its association with the rail network “Al -Ittihad train” and the rapid roads leading to the northern Emirates and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
Abdullah Al -Hamli, CEO of economic cities and free zones at the Abu Dhabi Ports Group, said that the launch of the storage center, the first of its kind, represents a qualitative shift in the march of both Metal Park, the economic cities sector and the free zones, within the framework of the group’s endeavor to develop and expand a specialized area in the mineral sector.
He added that these projects reflect the group’s firm commitment to continuing the development of innovative economic systems, which stimulates the growth of industries in Kizad, and contributes to the development and diversification of the economy of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
For his part, Saleh Shahristani, Chairman of the Metal Park Company, said that the Metal Storage Center is the only warehouse of its kind in the Middle East designed specifically to meet the needs of the metal sector at this level of efficiency.
He added that, as the first integrated mineral storage center in the region, this center will enable traders and distributors to reduce unnecessary operational costs, which will give them an important competitive advantage in the volatile metal market, and will also give the manufacturers new opportunities to expand their distribution networks.
