The protests caused the delay in the start of the ceremony for about 15 minutes, and tension intensified when one of the demonstrators supporting Palestine extracted an Israeli flag from one of the attendees, which led to a short chase of the police. Despite the detention of some demonstrators, no arrests were reported, according to Variety.

This honor came at a sensitive time, as Disney is preparing to launch the live version of “Snow White”, where Gadot plays the role of the evil Queen Evil Queen alongside Rachel Zegler, which embodies the character of Snow White.

However, the film was not spared from controversy, whether due to its recent re -interpretation of the classic story, or because of its political positions.
