Al -Aini Palace succeeds in performing a caesarean section for a critical condition using the ICOA device

In a pioneering step, a medical team in Al -Aini Palace succeeded in conducting a caesarean section for a critical condition for a pregnant mother in the seventh month, suffering from severe weakness in the heart muscle due to pregnancy, using the ICO device, which is one of the advanced life support techniques that depend on the artificial oxygen of the heart and lungs. The result of pregnancy is one of the severe cases that threaten the life of the mother and the fetus, as it may lead to the stopping of the heart or the occurrence of fatal mud, as well as the drop in blood circulation during childbirth or in the late stages of pregnancy. On the last days of Eid Al -Fitr, Dr. Abanoub Ayyad, the doctor residing in the ICOM unit, was informed of the presence of a condition or suffering from a severe weakness in the heart muscle by 20%, which required immediate intervention to end the pregnancy through a cesarean delivery, with the possibility of the need to support the ICO device yet Childbirth. Immediately after the patient’s arrival in the ICO unit, all the necessary devices were equipped, and the ICOA device was connected if necessary. Anesthesia led by Dr. Magdy Abdel Mohsen. The cesarean section was successfully performed within the ICO unit, so that the child is transferred to the nursery, and the mother begins to treat the condition of the heart resulting from pregnancy, in accurate follow -up until the stability of her condition.
