The UAE participates in the “World AI

The UAE, represented by the Cyber Security Council, participated in the “World AI Summit in Africa” that was held in the Republic of Rwanda under the slogan “Artificial Intelligence and the Demographic Return of Africa: Re -visualizing the economic opportunities for the workforce in Africa.”
During its participation in the summit, the Cyber Security Council affirmed the UAE’s commitment to supporting innovation and technical development to make a prosperous and sustainable digital future for all.
The UAE’s participation witnessed the discussion on the latest developments, innovations and technologies in the field of artificial intelligence, and the exchange of knowledge and experiences with various countries, in addition to presenting investment opportunities in the UAE in the field of artificial intelligence, and enhancing cooperation with international companies, where opportunities to involve leading Emirati companies such as “G42” and “CPX” were discussed in supporting these efforts.
The state delegation at the summit headed the head of the cybersecurity of the UAE government, Dr. Mohammed Al -Kuwaiti, and gathered more than 1,000 participants of policy makers, entrepreneurs, researchers and investors from more than 95 countries, along with more than 100 companies in the field of artificial intelligence.
The summit witnessed the launch of the African Council for Artificial Intelligence, and an offer to more than 100 promising companies in the field of artificial intelligence in Africa.
On the sidelines of the summit activities, Mohammed Al -Kuwaiti, CEO of the National Cybrian Security Authority in the Republic of Rwanda, met David Kanamogir, discussing cooperation in cybersecurity and digital transformation, as well as a number of vital fields that included the protection of digital infrastructure, exchange of information about cyber threats, and the development of incident response mechanisms, as well as building national competencies and capabilities. The two sides stressed the importance of protecting data and raising cybersecurity levels, especially with the accelerated trend in Rwanda towards artificial intelligence and cloud computing, which requires reliable and safe digital infrastructure. The two parties discussed the implementation of Emirati companies joint projects in the fields of cybersecurity, safe artificial intelligence, and data analysis, in order to enhance Rwanda’s digital readiness, and supports building a safe and sustainable technological environment that serves the development goals of both countries. The Kuwaiti emphasized that the UAE’s participation in the summit comes as a realization of the necessity of unifying regional and international efforts, and enhancing the exchange of experiences to ensure a more efficient response to the current and future challenges in the field of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
He said that the state’s participation in these activities comes within the framework of the directives of the wise leadership of the state and its continuous support for digital transformation and digital economic development, and within the continuous cooperation between all parties, especially in the field of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, and in continuation of the global leadership in the field of artificial intelligence, pointing to the need to activate the role of advanced technology in predicting risks, especially using advanced artificial intelligence techniques, and the importance of deepening International cooperation to ensure a coordinated response to face threats and crises at various levels.
The Kuwaiti, Minister of Information Technology, Communications and Innovation, also met in Rwanda, Paula Innbeer, and discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the process of developing digital infrastructure Brwanda.
With the Secretary -General of the International Telecommunication Union, Doreen Bougdan Martin, discussed ways to harness the techniques of artificial intelligence to achieve the sustainable development goals, as well as preparations for the upcoming effectiveness “Artificial Intelligence for Goodness”, to be held next July in Geneva.
