Amending installments dates with an official request at the bank’s headquarters, not phone

Two banks confirmed that the amendment of the loan installments payment dates is made by submitting an official request in the bank, and not by contacting the customer service center, noting that the amendment of the date is accompanied by the customer’s signing in writing on the request, and this is only done in the bank.

This came after complaints from bank clients, that they were incurring monthly delay fees for several years, after they were surprised not to adjust the date of payment upon their request, whether by calling the customer service center or the employee who previously completed the loan treatment.

They told «Emirates Today» that they relied on amending the dates of the installments, based on what some bank employees confirmed to complete the amendment.

In detail, bank customers reported that they asked to amend the dates of the monthly installments for their financing, after they moved to new jobs, as the date of the salary deposit changed, noting that when they contacted the customer service centers in their banks or the employee who had previously completed them, they were informed that the amendment was made, or that the matter does not require anxiety as long as the payment was made before the next installment date.

They told «Emirates Today» that the result of some employees did not know the correct procedures or their lack of credibility, they incurred monthly delay fees for several years, which were discovered by chance, as this affected their credit evaluation, adding that when they asked to review the calls registered with the bank, they were informed that a record of calls is not kept for more than eight to 10 months ago.

They emphasized that they used to pay the installment when depositing the salary in the new date, depending on what the employee confirmed that there were no problems as long as the payment took place during the days following the old date, and the installments did not accumulate for two consecutive months.

In addition, the banking expert, Tamer Abu Bakr, said, “The signing of the financing contracts is accompanied by a document that clarifies the schedule of premiums on the dates, as well as the value of the part designated for the interest and the other allocated to the origin of the loan, and this document if the customer happens and the customer wants to amend it, he must submit a request to the bank by visiting the branch, and submitting an official request attached to revealing an account showing the date of the salary deposit from the new side, and not by calling the customer service center.” Pointing out that any amendment must be an actual outlet on the bank’s system, in order to prevent arrears that affect the credit evaluation if it is repeated for more than a month.

Abu Bakr added that «the banks also send reminders before the installment date, so the customer must pay attention to these messages if he submitted a request to change the history in order to make sure that his request was actually implemented.

For his part, the banker Mustafa Ahmed said, “The amendment of the date of the loan premium is accompanied by the customer’s signing in writing on the request, and this is only in the branch and not through the customer service center or marketing employees.

He indicated that «the banks set the date of the installment a day or two before the salary, or one day later, at the latest, and this is customary, but if the customer wishes for any circumstance to amend the date to become several days later, for example for his transfer to a new work or a sudden delay in receiving the salary, then he must in this case to submit a request and provided that he is dispensing the previous installment, where the amendment is made for the next installment that is not time to deserve it yet.
