For the first time .. 28.8 million subscriptions to the means of communication by the end of 2024

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and the digital government stated that the number of subscriptions in the means of communication in the country, at the end of 2024, including mobile phones, the Internet, and the fixed phone, exceeded 28 million subscriptions, for the first time in the history of the state, as it reached 28 million and 863 thousand and 306 contributions, supported by the increase in the population, the high levels of living, the growth of operations, the increase in the number of tourists and visitors to the state Standardly in recent months.

Recent statistics issued by the authority yesterday showed that the total increase in the states of communication subscriptions in the country exceeded one million and 755 thousand and 984 subscriptions within one year, at a time when the contributions of all means of communication, (mobile phones, the Internet and fixed) concrete increases without exception.

According to those statistics, effective subscriptions in mobile phones increased, at the end of 2024, to 22 million, 407 thousand and 833 subscriptions, compared to 21 million and 222 thousand and 710 subscriptions at the end of 2023, an increase of one million, 185 thousand and 123 subscriptions in just one year.

At the end of December 2024, the number of “payment” lines, at the end of December 2024, reached 17 million and 250 thousand and 89 subscriptions, compared to five million and 157 thousand and 744 subscriptions in the “bill” system.

The number of mobile phone subscriptions reached 238.3 subscriptions per 100 people, which is the highest percentage that it arrives in the UAE, as mobile subscriptions are for every 100 people in the UAE of the highest rates in the world over the past years.

Statistics “Organization for Telecom” show that the number of “broadband internet” subscriptions at the end of 2024 amounted to four million and 501 thousand and 652 subscriptions compared to three million and 947 thousand and 874 subscriptions at the end of 2023, an increase of 553 thousand and 778 subscriptions.

The “broadband internet” subscriptions also recorded 48 lines per 100 people.

According to “Telecommunications Organization”, internet subscriptions were recorded via the phone line (zero) after the interruption of telecom operators, “Etisalat from END” and “Du” of the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company, gradually through the phone line for several years.

At the same time, the number of fixed phone lines in the country reached one million and 953 thousand and 821 subscriptions, compared to one million and 936 thousand and 738 subscriptions at the end of 2023, an increase of 17 thousand and 83 subscriptions.
