Dubai receives 5.31 million international visitors during the first quarter of 2025

The Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai announced its participation in the activities of the 32nd session of the Arab Travel Market Exhibition, which will start tomorrow, Monday, in light of the continuous growth achieved by the tourism sector in Dubai, revealing that Dubai will receive 5.31 million international visitors in the period between January and March 2025.
Strong performance
“In light of the good directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God bless him, and the great commitment of our partners and the relevant authorities in the tourism system in the emirate, the strong performance of the sector came during the first quarter of 2025, to enhance the growth recorded in the successive years, And to consolidate Dubai’s world leading position in the tourism sector.
He added, “The performance indicators of the tourism sector in Dubai will be highlighted during the exhibition, because its direct impact is not limited to the economy only, but also contributes to paving the way to attract investments, talents and business in Dubai.”
He continued: “We confirm our commitment to making Dubai the best city in the world to live, work and visit, that inspiring vision that we enlighten this year and beyond.”
The Dubai Economy and Tourism Department will participate in the Dubai Pavilion, along with more than 125 exhibitors of local partners and representatives of government agencies. It again organizes the program to host buyers in the current year’s session of the exhibition, with the aim of promoting hospitality experiences and exceptional tourism offers in Dubai in front of 300 international travel and international travel experts from 39 markets, who promote and sell bouquets to visit Dubai worldwide.
The results of the first quarter
The department stated that a continuation of the records registered during the years 2023 and 2024, Dubai received 5.31 million international visitors between January and March 2025, an increase of 3% compared to the same period in 2024, which reflects the attractiveness of the large city in the world, and to build on its 9% growth in 2024 with a reception of 18.72 million international visitors, which allows the emirate Establishing new standards after registering record numbers for years.
The department revealed that the diverse approach based on strategies and activities allocated to the Emirate of Dubai among more than 80 markets contributed to maintaining its pioneering presence as a favorite travel destination for visitors from the main and promising major markets.
During the first quarter of 2025, visitors from the Western Europe region formed the largest percentage of the total number of visitors to Dubai, as they numbered 1.15 million visitors representing 22%of the total visitors, followed by visitors from the Association of Independent Countries and Eastern Europe with 891 thousand visitors, or 17%, and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries with 772 thousand visitors by 15%.
The South Asia region came in fourth with 14%, with 752 thousand visitors, and the Middle East and North Africa region in fifth place with 12%and with 620 thousand visitors, and the number of visitors from the northeast and southeastern Asia region reached 474 thousand visitors by 9%, followed by the two Americans with 374 thousand visitors, or 7%, Africa with 197 thousand visitors by 4%, and Estalania with 78 thousand visitors And by 1% of the total.
In turn, the hospitality sector in Dubai continued its strong performance, and the daily price rate of the room increased during the first quarter of 2025 by 2% to reach 647 dirhams, and the number of seized rooms reached 11.19 million rooms, and the average revenue for each room is available 528 dirhams.
Tourism and hospitality sectors
The tourism and hospitality sectors continued their main role in the growth of Dubai GDP, as the residence and food services sector achieved a growth of 3.7% during the first nine months of 2024, to reach a value of 11.5 billion dirhams, and also contributed to attracting foreign direct investments to the emirate, where Dubai was ranked in 2024 as the best destination to attract direct foreign investment projects in the world for the fourth year on the fourth year Concerns, the best city in the world in the food, beverage and tourism sectors.
