The Dubai Chamber of Commerce concludes its mission in Mapoto, organizing 356 bilateral meetings

Dubai, April 27 / WAM / The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three rooms operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chamber, concluded in the Mapoto capital, Mapoto, the activities of its commercial mission to Angola and Mozambique, organizing 356 bilateral meetings between companies from Dubai and its counterparts from Mozambique, with the aim of building new partnerships and discussing opportunities for commercial and joint investment expansion.
The mission activities in Mapoto included, according to a press release today, the organization of a forum entitled “Practicing Business with Mozambique”, which was held in cooperation with the UAE embassy in Mapoto, in addition to each of the Ministry of Industry in Mozambique and the Chamber of Commerce in Mozambique and the Investment and Export Promotion Agency in Mozambique and the General Consulate of Mozambique in Dubai.
The forum witnessed speeches by His Excellency Fredson Bakar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy for Tourism Affairs in the Republic of Mozambique, and Alvaro Massingo, President of the Mozambique Chamber of Commerce.
The forum attracted 349 officials, business leaders and representatives of local companies to discuss the prospects for cooperation and joint business opportunities with members of the commercial mission delegation.
His Excellency Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, Director General of Dubai Chambers, stressed the keenness to enhance the openness of Dubai companies to the promising global markets, including Mozambique, in a way that contributes to supporting the competitiveness of the local private sector and enhancing the growth of the movement of the trade exchange of Dubai with the countries of the world, and that the activities of this commercial mission constitute a vital platform for building fruitful cooperation relations, and paving the way for successful commercial and investment partnerships between the business community in Dubai and Mozambique.
The value of the non -oil trade between Dubai and Mozambique increased from 3.1 billion dirhams in 2023 to 4.6 billion dirhams in 2024, with a growth of 47%, while the number of active Mozambique companies registered in the membership of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce reached 89 companies by the end of March 2025.
Dubai Chamber of Commerce focused, during the activities of the forum, on reviewing the elements of the modern business environment in Dubai, and highlighted the competitive advantages provided by the emirate to the Mozambician companies, and the promising opportunities provided by the Mozambic market for companies that are based in Dubai were discussed.
During the activities of the forum, a dialogue session was organized that dealt with the most important commercial and investment features enjoyed by Mozambique and the ingredients of its markets in all major sectors, and the mechanisms of commercial partnerships and business practicing in the Mozambic market for Dubai companies.
The Dubai Chamber of Commerce has identified a group of promising export sectors from Dubai to Mozambique, especially wheat, cars, mobile phones and frozen fish, as well as medical diagnostic requirements and laboratory devices, as well as textiles and electrical connectors.
As for the most important sectors that provide investment opportunities in Mozambique for Dubai companies, they are represented in agricultural industries, tourism and hotels, in addition to the packaging and printing sector, the traditional and renewable energy sector, and the wood industry.
The commercial mission was attended by representatives of 19 private sector companies in Dubai specializing in a variety of sectors, including e -commerce, pipe products, brand protection solutions, retail, fabric, energy and mobility solutions.
