Writers and specialists: Self -publishing a empowerment journey that requires courage and planning

Sharjah, May 4 / WAM / A number of writers confirmed that self -publishing was no longer an alternative option for traditional publishing houses, but rather has become an enabling way that gives the author full control over his message and is required at the same time to have an integrated experience that combines creativity and professionalism from cover and marketing design to the building of the public and sales analysis.
The speakers unanimously agreed within the activities of the Sharjah Reading Festival for the Child, that the challenges imposed by this path are subject to transcendence through passion and clarity in the message and smart interaction with communication platforms, which makes self -publishing a journey to build an impressive and cross -border mark.
This came during a cultural session entitled “Beyond the manuscript: discovering the secrets of success in self -publishing” within the activities of the Sharjah Reading Festival for the Child, where the session hosted Caroline Bakr and Kim A. Big, Yasmine Ahmed, Adel Al -Zarouni. The session dealt with the experiences of the authors in self -publishing and their strategies in reaching readers and lessons learned from challenges and the growing role of digital marketing in promoting the presence and spread of the book.
In a dialogue session entitled: “Celebrating the power of family ties”, Dr. Muhammad Al -Ma’amari, writer Muhammad Al -Shaer and writer Arti Khato, I am Bathaya that writing for children requires the writer to be directed, educator and able to interact with the world of childhood in a close language and an understandable environment for the child and show that literature can be an effective tool to support the family, especially in facing the challenges that are difficult for parents Clarify it for children.

Within the educational workshops, the Sharjah Book Authority organized a workshop specialized in digital storytelling art, presented by trainers from the Nomad Center for Innovative Education with the aim of enabling children to digital drawing tools and introduce them to the techniques of designing storytelling by using modern programs and interactive applications.
The workshop provided children with the opportunity to identify the principles of digital drawing, build and color characters through tablets equipped with applications dedicated to this art, which allowed them to convert their ideas into visual scenes and interactive digital stories.
The Korean painter, Shin Amy, who won third place at the Sharjah Fair Exhibition for Children’s Books Fees, accompanied 2025 children on an exceptional artistic journey to discover the aesthetics of Korean architecture and design their own homes in a unique way, during the “My Wonderful Home” workshop.
In a related context, the third session of the “Sharjah Animation Conference” organized by the “Sharjah Book Authority” in conjunction with the Sharjah Reading Festival for the Child witnessed yesterday evening an exceptional musical night in celebration of the ancient artistic legacy of the famous Japanese anime studio “Gibli” through a ceremony entitled “In the Heart of the Anime: A musical greeting to Studio Gibli” presented by the “Florence Pops” band. The Italian joint leadership brought together the Japanese composer Tamia Terrashima, one of the most prominent music authors in the history of Gibli, and the Italian Maestro Carlo Kiarie.
The evening came to take the audience on an audiovisual journey through four decades of gibli films that formed the conscience of complete generations as the orchestra, consisting of 52 musicians, presented a selection of the most famous music compositions that accompanied films such as “Princess Monunuki”, “Gary Totoro” and “Hawal Al -Makar”, and “The Known”, and other works that still enjoy wide popularity about the world.
