Indonesia launches two oil and gas projects worth $ 600 million

Jakarta on May 17 / WAM / Indonesian President Praboo Sobanto opened on Friday two oil and gas projects in the west of the country, describing them as a corner stone towards achieving self -sufficiency in the energy level.
Brabu pledged to enhance energy security for the largest economy in Southeast Asia and gradually get rid of coal energy and reach net emissions by 2050, and said that “achieving national self -sufficiency in the energy level is vital to the independence of our nation.”
He added: “If we are able to achieve self -sufficiency in the energy level, we will provide tens of billions of dollars.”
For his part, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources in Halil Lahaalia confirmed that projects of $ 600 million, which are run by the Indonesian company “Midco E and B Natona” in the southern Natona Sea aims to produce 20 thousand barrels of oil per day.
Brabu pledged during the Group of Twenty’s summit last year, to close hundreds of coal and fossil fuel power stations by the year 2040 in the country, which is one of the largest producers and coal consumers in the world.
The government also announced its desire to build facilities to produce more than 75 GB of renewable energy by 2040.
