المملكة: 700 thousand mandatory training opportunities to raise the efficiency of teachers

The Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the National Institute for Educational Professional Development, announced the preparation and launch of what it described as the largest training plan in its history, targeting male and female teachers in all stages of public education along the Kingdom.
The implementation of this plan is scheduled to start next month, as it will provide more than 700,000 qualitative training opportunities.

Professional development of teachers in Saudi Arabia

In this context, the Ministry emphasized that continuous professional development has now been mandatory for all cadres practicing the education profession, in addition to school and educational leaders.
This unprecedented step comes within the framework of the ministry’s keenness to comprehensively upgrade the general education system, and improve the quality of the outputs and learning outcomes for male and female students.
The Ministry pointed to building various and comprehensive training paths, based on high -level local and international strategic partnerships, with the aim of qualifying and developing the capabilities of male and female teachers and educational leaders according to the latest standards and best global practices in this field.

Comprehensive professional development paths

The ministry stated that this stage was given special attention within the plan, as a comprehensive and professional development paths for early childhood teachers were prepared.
This stage was priority at the National Institute for Educational Professional Development, which built three main paths to meet its needs.
It includes: specialized professional diplomas, concentrated short training courses, and skill certificates that enhance practical struggles in this vital educational field.

The Ministry stressed that the National Institute for Educational Professional Development seeks through these qualitative initiatives to achieve leadership in preparing and developing educational capabilities in the Kingdom, by adopting the best modern trends and distinguished educational practices.
She stressed that the mandatory training and vocational development comes out of the need to keep pace with the accelerating developments in the education sector.
This huge investment in the educational staff also represents an effective contribution to achieving the targets of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision, and direct support for the Human Capacity Development Program, which puts the development of national competencies at the core of its priorities, in a way that ultimately contributes to building generations capable of competing globally.
