“The Central Bank” generalizes on banks to suspend the minimum balance until further notice

The central bank asked all banks operating in the country, this morning, to suspend any increase in the minimum balance, in a circular issued by it, “Emirates Today” obtained a copy of it in which he said in detail that:

Referring to what was published in the newspapers and communication channels on the intention of some banks, to increase the minimum balance to 5,000 dirhams

Please note that the central bank has decided to study the impact of this increase on customers, so banks must suspend the increase in the minimum balance and not be applied until further notice. ”

It is noteworthy that the “Emirates Today” published earlier the intention of some banks to increase the minimum balance to 5 thousand dinars instead of 3 thousand dirhams, which received a wide criticism among the public, calling on the central bank to intervene.
