The awareness of the youth is the pillar of building the future of the country’s economy

A number of youth council members emphasized that the economic awareness of young people is one of the most important pillars that draws the future of the new economy in the UAE, by harnessing their capabilities in future fields and adopting a advocacy and leadership ideology, in line with the directions of the rational leadership in the UAE and the Dubai Economic Agency «D33», which aims to be Dubai among the three best economic cities in the world to invest, live and work.
“We are not satisfied with opening opportunities for young people, but rather are keen to provide them with a clear vision, and a profound understanding of challenges and opportunities, as well as enhancing their confidence that their role and contributions are able to make a real and sustainable impact on the development process.”
The President of the Dubai Youth Council, Reem Al -Falasi, also stressed that economic awareness is more national responsibility than being a cognitive tool, and enhances the participation of young people in drawing the features of the future, based on understanding reality and analyzing its data deeply and consciously.
For his part, the Vice -President of the Dubai Youth Council, Ahmed Marwan Al -Sawalha, praised the expertise and capabilities of the Emirati youth, which confirmed that it qualifies them to play a greater role in drawing the features of the future of the country’s economy and the region.
This came during a youthful episode entitled “Global Economic Decisions: How Youth Make opportunities?”, Organized by the Dubai Youth Council in cooperation with the Youth Department of Finance in the context of efforts to enhance the awareness of Emirati youth in global economic changes, and the episode aimed to enable young people to understand a deeper understanding of global economic policies, analysis of accelerating transformations, and anticipating the features of the new economy, in line with the national agenda of youth 2031, and the episode was held at the headquarters The influencers in the Emirates towers, last Friday, in the presence of the Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Dr. Sultan bin Saif Al -Neyadi, the Secretary -General of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, Abdullah Mohammed Al -Basti, and the Director General of Dubai Finance, Abdul Rahman Al Saleh, along with the Director of the Federal Youth Foundation, Khaled Al -Nuaimi, and the Director General of the Human Resources Department of the Dubai Government, Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, with a group of youth, experts and specialists in the fields of economics and public policies.
Sultan Al -Neyadi said: “Enabling young people to identify global economic transformations enhance their ability to interact with the future with confidence, and these dialogues give them a platform to formulate innovative ideas that keep pace with national aspirations, and contribute to building a knowledgeable economy based on efficiency and renewal.”
For his part, Abdul Rahman Al Saleh said: “Young people today are the makers of change, and their in -depth understanding of economic challenges gives them the ability to seize opportunities and turn them into concrete achievements that serve the country and support their development career.”
Abdullah Ali Al -Falasi stressed that the youth are a basic pillar in building the economy of the future, and by enabling them to skills related to economic policies, we give them the ability to influence and participate effectively in formulating strategic decisions.
The episode focused on discussing global economic issues from a youth perspective, while highlighting the importance of enabling young people to understand the tools of understanding and analysis to take conscious economic decisions, in addition to enhancing their participation in drawing the features of the economic future of the state, especially in light of the rapid global changes that affect the local and regional economy.
“One of the most prominent challenges facing the economy today is to achieve real diversity in sources of income, in addition to the need to keep pace with the accelerated technological developments through pre -emptive thinking,” said Ahmed Ali Moftah, Executive Director of the Central Accounts Sector in Dubai Finance, Ahmed Ali Moftah.
He also stressed the importance of empowering young people because of their ideas capable of supporting economic growth, stressing the need for self -development and enhancing skills to keep pace with current transformations and facing future challenges with confidence and efficiency.
The Vice -President of the International Relations Sector in the Chambers of Dubai, Salem Al Shamsi, pointed out that the Dubai Chambers are keen to anticipate the future through the global orientation towards supporting medium and small projects, stressing that Dubai is an attractive environment for investment and is characterized by providing qualitative opportunities for young people, as Dubai Chambers support projects and ideas of youth continuously, as they are an important pillar in advancing economic growth.
He added that during the year 2024 Dubai was able to attract 51 multinational companies, each of which reaches one billion dirhams or more, which reflects the confidence of the international companies in the business environment in Dubai, and confirms the emirate’s position as a global economic center capable of attracting quality investments.
On the importance of economic diversity and the trend towards the unconventional sectors, the first Vice President of Information Technology at the DB World, the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Ibrahim Al -Najjar, said that Dubai is working to reduce its dependence on the traditional sectors through future plans aimed at diversifying the economy, according to the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which is a road map for Dubai’s economic future and aims to push the economic growth of the Emirate of Dubai.
He continued: “The trend towards future industries such as space, artificial intelligence, and robots requires strategic readiness and specialized competencies,” noting the importance of attracting entrepreneurs and innovative ideas in light of a supportive environment that seeks to build a diverse and sustainable economy that keeps pace with global changes.
He added that “DPDDDDDD” contributes to supporting supply chains that cover about 10% of global trade, which enhances Dubai’s position as a global logistical center and a main platform for trade.
At the end of the event, the participants announced several basic outcomes, the most prominent of which are: the launch of a training course in cooperation with the Department of Finance in Dubai, entitled “The role of the Emirati youth in the new economy” and the Economic Youth Forum, with the aim of developing youth knowledge and skills in understanding the emerging economic models, and absorbing the concepts of digital economy, sustainability, and entrepreneurship.
These outputs come in confirmation of the pivotal role that young people contribute to building the future of the national economy, and the need to provide them with tools and knowledge that enable them to seize opportunities and make a positive impact in various vital sectors.
