Graduating the third batch of the capacity building program for social welfare professionals

Abu Dhabi, July 8 / WAM / The United Arab Emirates University, represented by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Center for Continuing Education, celebrated the graduation of the third batch of the “Capacity Building for Social Welfare Professionals”, in cooperation with the Community Development Department in Abu Dhabi represented by the licensing and social control sector in the presence of a number of representatives of the authorities, partners and members of the academic body at the university.
This program comes as an embodiment of the strategic partnership between the university and the department, and a joint commitment to developing specialized national cadres and enhancing the quality and efficiency of social services in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, where the new batch included 130 graduates and graduates of social sector workers in governmental and private institutions, distributed over three specialized professional diplomas that include social service exercise skills, non -clinical psychology, and school guidance.
In his speech during the ceremony, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Mohammed bin Huwaiden, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Emirates University, confirmed that this program represents a real investment in the Emirati person.
He said: “We have realized at the Emirates University that the national development process is not complete without the development of man from within, and for this our professional programs, including this program, came to provide society specialists who are qualified and walk according to the vision of our rational leadership that made man the highest value and the most expensive wealth.”
For his part, Mubarak Al -Amri, Executive Director of the Licensing and Social Supervision Sector in the Community Development Department, explained that this program comes within the efforts of the department to qualify social care professionals according to the highest approved professional standards, stressing that the development of human capital in the social sector is the cornerstone of the development of integrated social services.
Al -Amiri pointed out that the program attracted participants from multiple parties such as government schools, Family Development Foundation, Family Welfare Authority, Abu Dhabi Police General Command, Zayed Upper Foundation for People of Determination, Abu Dhabi Institute for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, in addition to a number of private social institutions.
It is noteworthy that the program, which was launched in 2022, graduated in its first batch 111 participants, and in its second batch 42 participants in 2023, bringing the total number of graduates to this day to more than 283 graduates and graduates.
At the end of the ceremony, certificates were distributed to the graduates and took a collective picture amid praise from the attendees with the joint efforts between the university and the department in providing qualitative programs that keep pace with the state’s aspirations in the social welfare sector and reflect their vision in building and empowering man.
