"Abu Dhabi Health" .. global partnerships to develop health care

Abu Dhabi, July 8/ WAM/ The Health Department – Abu Dhabi continues its efforts to enhance the emirate’s position as a leading center in the field of health, life and innovation at the level of the Middle East and North Africa.

As part of these endeavors, the department carried out a successful strategic visit to the United States of America that lasted a week, in which a high -level delegation included 40 representatives from 12 entities within the health care system in Abu Dhabi.

The visit included major cities such as Boston, Washington, DC, and Philadelphia, coinciding with the participation of the emirate in the activities of the International Conference on the Innovation Organization in Biotechnology 2025, which is considered one of the most prominent international conferences in the biotechnology sector.

During the visit, the delegation conducted 20 strategic meetings, and visited 16 institutions and company in the health care sector, in addition to participating in 9 dialogue sessions that focused on exchanging knowledge, exploring investment opportunities, and holding 7 new cooperation agreements and partnerships aimed at stimulating the adoption of the latest advanced health solutions, and promoting the quality of health care in the emirate and abroad.

The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, through this visit, seeks to invest the experiences and technologies of global partners to test and expand the scope of the use of the latest health innovations in cooperation with the various parties concerned, within the framework of a strategic vision aimed at leading the next stage of health development at the global level.

His Excellency Dr. Noura Khamis Al -Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the Health Department – Abu Dhabi, stressed that the emirate is working to consolidate a smart and preventive health system based on the needs of patients, and contributes to achieving a widespread positive impact.

She pointed out that today, Abu Dhabi has become a global living laboratory in which it embraces ambitious policies, feasible investments, and high scientific capabilities to test and expand the scope of innovative health solutions.

She pointed out that this fourth visit to the United States reflects the department’s commitment to upgrading the emirate’s capabilities and consolidating its leadership as an integrated health and life sciences center that attracts the latest technologies and solutions.

She explained that the meetings and dialogue sessions contributed to enhancing data exchange and supporting long -term partnerships between the two sides, and resulted in expanding the scope of cooperation between the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and prestigious international institutions with the aim of making the future of health care in a way that supports the emirate’s efforts in developing health outcomes by supporting research, enhancing infrastructure, attracting distinguished medical competencies, and effective investment in innovation.

The agreements that were concluded during the visit included partnerships with prominent parties in the United States such as the University of California San Francisco, the Innovative Genome Institute, Sanofi companies, Bohrneger Angelicheim, Abbott, Uitna International, Gma Bayu and the National Hospital of Children.

These agreements focus on establishing advanced centers for genome surgery, developing and manufacturing vaccine, integrating research and innovation platforms, expanding drug production in Abu Dhabi, enhancing access to American health care networks, as well as developing gynes and biotechnology research centers, and launching advanced cell and genetic treatment programs for children.

The delegation included representatives of a group of entities that make up the health innovation system in Abu Dhabi from various sectors, including the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, Mubadala Bayu, the M42 Group, the city of Masdar, the Kizad region, the Burharith Company, the Startad Program, the Etihad Shipping Company, along with New York University Abu Dhabi, Khalifa University, and Mohammed bin Zayed University for artificial intelligence.
