China intends to develop carbon -free industrial complexes to enhance the green transformation

China recently released a document to support the development of carbon -free industrial complexes, with the aim of accelerating the green transformation in the country.
The document issued by the National Development and Reform Committee and two other government agencies encourages local areas to build carbon -free industrial complexes capable of reducing carbon dioxide emissions to nearly zero through planning, design, technology and advanced management, which can eventually achieve net yellow emissions.
The document, according to the Chinese “Xinhua” agency, determines eight main tasks in areas such as transforming energy structures, enhancing energy efficiency, improving industrial structures, promoting rationalization of resource use, infrastructure development, applying advanced technologies, improving energy and carbon management, and encouraging reform and innovation in complexes.
Industrial complexes will also be supported to attract competencies, technologies and professional institutions to help with energy -saving updates, carbon emissions account, and issue carbon fingerprint certificates for products. The resources will be guaranteed to allocate to new industrial complexes, and to the renewable energy infrastructure and electricity, according to the document.
