"Muslim sages" He calls on the international community to assume its responsibilities to stop wars and protect civilians

Abu Dhabi, September 21 / WAM / The Council of Muslim Elderly, headed by His Excellency the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar Al -Sharif, called for the need to mobilize international efforts to stop the conflicts, wars and conflicts that our world witnesses today, which killed tens of thousands of people around the world.

The Council stated, in a statement on the occasion of the International Day of Peace, which falls on September 21 of each year, that peace is the essence of the message of Islam, and all religions and the heavenly laws that came to the happiness of humanity, explaining that peace goes beyond the absence of conflicts to include harmony, justice and mutual respect between humans, warning at the same time of the escalation of letters of violence, hatred, and the imbalance of religious texts and their exploitation to kill innocent civilians.

He stressed that the celebration of the International Peace Day while the Gaza Strip is witnessing a horrific humanitarian tragedy that puts the human conscience in front of a real test that requires the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and move urgently to save innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip and stop the killings and starvation policies, and to work to introduce humanitarian and relief aid, find a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, Establishing his independent state and its capital, Al -Quds Al -Sharif.

The Council of Muslim Elders is making unremitting efforts to enhance peace and spread the values ​​of dialogue, tolerance and human coexistence, through many inspiring projects and initiatives such as the “Peace Makers Youth Forum” and the “Student Dialogs Program for Human Brothers”.

These efforts culminated in the launch of the “Humanitarian Brotherhood for World Peace and Coexistence” document signed by the Honorable Imam, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar Al -Sharif, and the late Pope Francis, the Pope of the former Catholic Church, in Abu Dhabi in 2019, which called for the necessity of working to re -discover the values ​​of peace, justice, goodness, love and human brotherhood and stop the world today.
