After forty .. What is the most important vitamins for women’s health?

As the woman enters her fourth decade, hormonal and physical changes begin to appear, which is reflected in energy, bones, skin and even mood. Here, many resort to nutritional supplements, but nutritionists confirm that vitamins are not a magic treatment, but rather part of a balanced lifestyle.

According to British medical reports, there are food items that become more important at this stage, most notably:

Vitamin D: It is necessary to support bone and immunity, and it is recommended to examine its levels periodically while taking supplements when needed, especially with the lack of exposure to the sun.

Calcium and magnesium: Calcium is essential to prevent osteoporosis, while magnesium helps in its absorption, in addition to its role in regulating blood pressure and sleeping.

Vitamin B12: Its absorption is less with age, and its deficiency may cause fatigue and weakness in focus, so it is advised to monitor its levels, especially in vegetables.

Omega-3: It supports heart and brain health and mood balance, and are available in oily fish or algae supplements for vegetables.

Despite the importance of these elements, experts warn against excessive supplements or taking them without medical advice, as high doses may turn from some vitamins such as DOA or iron to a source of risk to health.

“Vitamins complement the diet, but it does not compensate … the balance is the secret of wellness after forty,” says British nutritionist Sarah Xinkmann.
