"Top for motherhood and childhood" He is looking into strengthening cooperation with the Japanese University of Osaka

Osaka, October 16 / WAM / The Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood discussed ways to enhance cooperation with the Japanese University of Osaka, especially in areas related to childhood and maternal development programs.

This came during the visit made by Her Excellency Al-Reem bint Abdullah Al-Falasi, Secretary-General of the Council, to the university’s headquarters in the Japanese city of Osaka, where she was briefed on a group of academic programs and research and community initiatives hosted by the university, as it is one of the most prestigious educational institutions in Japan and Asia, and one of the internationally ranked universities, and includes an elite group of scholars and researchers who have won prestigious international awards, including the Nobel.

Her Excellency participated in a round table in the presence of a number of faculty members at Osaka University, where she learned about the efforts of the “Joint Higher School of Child Development” (UGSCD) at the university, which is a postgraduate program founded in 2012 that aims to study children’s psychological and mental health and comprehensive development, and is implemented by Osaka University in cooperation with a number of Japanese universities.

The discussions touched on the university’s keenness to employ artificial intelligence in initiatives related to this program, where an innovative application was presented that uses artificial intelligence, developed by the university, and is applied to children at various age levels to learn about their daily habits, monitor their sleep rates, and create an integrated database used to enhance their skills and develop their abilities at various educational stages.

In this regard, Her Excellency Al Reem bint Abdullah Al Falasi confirmed that the UAE pays great attention to promoting the mental health of children, as last year it launched the “Fatima bint Mubarak Forum for Motherhood and Childhood on Mental Health” under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates”, President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, based on the belief that mental health is an essential pillar of building a healthy, capable society. To keep pace with the requirements of modernity and development.

She pointed to the role played by the Fatima Bint Mubarak Center for Motherhood and Childhood Research at the United Arab Emirates University in creating a data bank and research base that contributes to policy making based on scientific results and accurate data, by conducting research and studies in the areas of the Emirati family in general, and motherhood and childhood issues in particular.

Following the roundtable, Her Excellency Al-Reem bint Abdullah Al-Falasi toured the university’s various facilities, during which she inspected the Center for Medical Innovations and Scientific Research, and the Osaka University College of Medicine Hospital, which includes many specialized medical departments.

Her Excellency congratulated the faculty members at the university on the occasion of the Japanese scientist Sakaguchi Shimon, a professor at Osaka University, recently receiving the Nobel Prize in Medicine.

Her Excellency Al Reem bint Abdullah Al Falasi stressed the keenness of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood to strengthen international partnerships in the academic sector, as it represents a fundamental pillar for supporting national initiatives in the UAE in the fields of education, health and social development, noting the Council’s keenness to exchange experiences with leading Japanese institutions, especially with regard to motherhood, early childhood, family and education.

She added that the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood attaches great importance to expanding its programs concerned with mothers, children, adolescents, and parents, explaining that cooperation with a university of the size and stature of Osaka University, which is ranked among the best universities in the world, will contribute to exchanging experiences and launching joint training programs and specialized studies.

She also stressed the importance of opening new horizons for cooperation with major international universities to support efforts related to child health and development, early education and family care in accordance with the highest international standards, stressing the UAE’s position as a leading center in supporting motherhood and childhood issues at the regional and international levels.
