China expresses its deep concern over the trade agreement between Malaysia and the United States

On Thursday, China expressed its deep concern about parts of the reciprocal trade agreement between Malaysia and the United States.

A spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said – in a statement reported by the Chinese News Agency (Xinhua) – that while China welcomes Malaysia’s endeavor to resolve differences with other countries through trade agreements, any trade agreement should not hinder global trade development or regional cooperation, and should not harm interests.

 

The spokesman’s statements came following bilateral communication on relevant matters between officials from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and others from the Malaysian Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry, in Beijing on November 25.
