Palestinian National: Holding elections within a year of the end of the war in Gaza

President of the Palestinian National Council, Rawhi Fattouh, confirmed that the Council is continuing efforts aimed at preparing to hold elections for a new National Council within one year of the end of the war in the Gaza Strip, stressing that the success of this step depends on the participation of the Palestinian people everywhere they are, especially in the Gaza Strip and West Jerusalem, to ensure comprehensive and fair representation that reflects the will of the people with all its components.

This came during his meeting at the Council’s headquarters in the city of Ramallah, with a delegation from the sect. Samaritan, headed by Priest Hosni Wassef Al-Samari, member of the Palestinian National Council and director of the Samaritan Museum, within the framework of continuous communication between the institutions of the Palestinian political system and all components of the people, and to consolidate the position of the Samaritans as an integral part of the Palestinian national fabric throughout history.

 

The President of the Palestinian National Council stressed that the Council is an inclusive council for all Palestinians without exception, and that it is the framework that embraces everyone on the basis of national partnership and respect for religious diversity. And social.

 

Fatouh explained that the current stage requires the highest levels of cohesion between all components of the Palestinian people, stressing his keenness to enhance the integration of all religions and groups into the national fabric, thus consolidating internal unity as an essential foundation for confronting political and national challenges.

 

For his part, Priest Hosni Wassef Al-Samari stressed that Samaritans, like other people, are The Palestinian people believe that there is no security, stability, or peace except in light of the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, stressing that the Palestinian presence has been well-established and rooted on this land for centuries, and that the Samaritan sect was and remains an integral part of this historical and civilizational extension.
