$10.2 billion in South Korean agricultural and food exports during 2025

SEOUL, January 18 (WAM) – Data published by the Korea Agricultural, Marine and Food Products Trade Corporation on Sunday showed that the value of South Korea’s exports of agricultural and food products amounted to $10.2 billion last year.
The United States, China, and Japan accounted for 46% of Korean agricultural and food product exports. The United States’ share reached 17.5% ($1.8 billion), followed by China with 15.4% ($1.58 billion), and Japan with 12.7% ($1.3 billion).
The shares of the European Union and the Middle East were 7.5% ($773 million) and 4% ($411 million), respectively.
The South Korean government seeks to open new markets, with the growing need to diversify export markets for agricultural and food products to enhance the sustainability of exports.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs launched the “Korea Food Export Task Force” with the participation of the public and private sectors last December to explore new markets.
The Korea Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) office in the State of Qatar, and 4 other offices affiliated with the agency, were classified as major trade centers this year.
The Ministry said that it is doing its utmost to expand exports of agricultural products and food to the Middle East and Africa, noting that these exports increased by 22.6% and 19%, respectively, last year compared to the previous year.
