Abdullah bin Zayed discusses regional developments during phone calls with a number of foreign ministers

Abu Dhabi, 3 March / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, discussed during phone calls with a number of foreign ministers of brotherly and friendly countries the latest developments in the region and the repercussions of the blatant Iranian missile attacks that targeted the UAE and a number of sister countries.
His Highness held telephone discussions with His Excellency Dr. Fouad Muhammad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, His Excellency Tanja Fajon, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, His Excellency Maxime Prevot, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium, His Excellency Radoslaw Sikorski, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, His Excellency Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, and His Excellency Yvette Cooper, Minister of Foreign Affairs. Her Excellency Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of India, Her Excellency Penny Wong, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Australia, Her Excellency Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore, Her Excellency Margus Tsahkna, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia, Her Excellency Nadezhda Niensky, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Her Excellency Dr. Khalilur Rahman, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Her Excellency Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, Her Excellency Mauro Vieira, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil, and His Excellency Marko Djuric, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.
During phone calls with Their Excellencies the Ministers, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan confirmed the safety of all residents and visitors in the UAE.
The communications discussed the serious repercussions of the current escalation on regional security and stability, and the direct threat to international peace and security that may result from it, as well as its potential effects on the stability of the global economy and the security of energy supplies.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and their Excellencies the ministers condemned and strongly denounced the blatant Iranian attacks on the UAE and sisterly and friendly countries, stressing the right of the countries affected by the attacks to take the necessary measures to protect their sovereignty, preserve their security and territorial integrity, and guarantee the security of their citizens and residents of their lands.
The ministers also stressed the importance of uniting regional and international efforts during the current stage to contain the escalation and prevent its expansion, while emphasizing the need to give priority to the language of dialogue and diplomatic solutions, and to joint work to consolidate the foundations of sustainable security and stability, and achieve the comprehensive development sought by the peoples of the region.
