European stocks close higher, supported by gains in the mining sector


European stocks traded higher yesterday, Wednesday, supported by strong gains For the mining sector, despite the continued state of caution among investors due to concerns related to the rise in Oil prices.
The European STOXX 600 index rose by 0.8%, closing at 611.42 points.
While the basic resources sector index jumped by 4.4%, recording a record level supported by the rise in metal prices.
Data collected by the London Stock Exchange Group showed expectations for European companies’ profits to grow by 10.2% during the first quarter, at the fastest pace in 3 years.
