With $988 million… America provides new military aid to Ukraine

The United States announced on Saturday a new military aid package for Ukraine worth $988 million, as Washington races against time to provide support to Kiev before President-elect Donald Trump takes office.
A Pentagon statement said that the package includes drones and ammunition for HIMARS precision missile launchers, equipment and spare parts for artillery systems, tanks and armored vehicles.

In the same context, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that on Saturday he had a “good and fruitful meeting” with Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron.
“I had a good and fruitful tripartite meeting with President Donald Trump and President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace,” Zelensky said on social media, adding, “We all want this war to end as soon as possible and in a fair way.”
He thanked Macron for organizing this meeting, pointing out that “President Trump is firm as usual. I thank him.” Zelensky explained that he agreed with Macron and Trump “to continue working together and staying in touch.”
