Sharjah, December 12 / WAM / The Little Art Foundation in New Zealand, in cooperation with the “Fan – Media Discovery Platform” Foundation in Sharjah, launched the first edition of the reEarth International Arts Prize, which is a global initiative aimed at harnessing artistic creativity to support environmental issues and encourage participants to explore… Various topics on climate change such as “Life on Earth”, “Life Underwater”, “Beyond Humans” and “Man’s Connection with the Planet”.

It was announced that participation would be open to young creatives from all over the world in the fields of photography, drawing, painting, digital design, and illustration, to highlight their artistic creativity inspired by the topic of climate change and to promote environmental awareness through art.

Participation has also been opened for schools in the country and around the world to motivate students to participate to enhance their artistic skills and develop their environmental awareness, as the award, which targets the age group from 4 to 25 years, seeks to inspire children and youth to support climate change efforts in creative ways.

The selected works will be displayed in real and digital art exhibitions in the cities of Auckland, New Zealand, Venice, and Italy. Participants will also have the opportunity for international appreciation, as their works will be evaluated by a distinguished jury that includes artists specialized in the proposed fields from Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States of America.

Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director General of the Fann Foundation and the Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth, said that art is a powerful means of creating change, and this International Arts Award gives students, children and youth a unique opportunity to express their creativity and contribute to raising awareness about the issue of climate change. We encourage children and youth to Seize this opportunity to highlight their environmental artistic visions and contribute to spreading awareness about global climate challenges.

Shoaib Iqbal, co-founder of the award, said: “We are witnessing increasing interest from schools, children and youth in participating in the first edition of the award, and we are proud to empower the next generation of artists and highlight climate change as a common issue that concerns us all.”
