The Sharjah Department of Culture honors the authors of its 2025 publications

Sharjah, 26 March / WAM / The Sharjah Department of Culture today honored the authors of its 2025 publications, which amounted to 131 titles in various creative fields: criticism, short stories, novels, poetry, theatre, children’s literature, university theses, media and plastic arts.

The honoring ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Department of Culture in the presence of His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Culture in Sharjah, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs in the Department, Dr. Omar Abdel Aziz, Director of Studies and Publishing in the Department, and a large number of authors, intellectuals and media professionals.

The Department of Culture explained that the ceremony honoring the authors of the Sharjah Department of Culture’s publications for the year 2025 embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to support the publishing sector and enhance its presence. It is a vision that the Department of Culture has translated into a tangible reality for decades, as these efforts have contributed to enriching the cultural scene by issuing qualitative books in various fields of knowledge and creativity, as the total number of Department of Culture publications reached approximately 2,300 titles, of which 131 titles were published in 2025, including: Criticism, short stories, novels, poetry, theater, children’s literature, university theses, media, and plastic arts.

She added that this renewed meeting confirms that Sharjah is continuing its cultural approach, incubating creative people and supporting every knowledge project that contributes to consolidating the values ​​of beauty and thought, noting that it has created a wide publishing space for the Arab intellectual, which has contributed to embracing an intellectual and creative product that enhances the presence of Arabic literature at the global level.

For his part, Dr. Jaber Al-Nuaimi gave a speech to the authors of the 2025 editions, saying: The letter, in its beginnings, was a faint call in our consciences, and the dream was spelling itself between the notebooks of waiting until hands that knew as much as the word came, believing in its message, extended bridges for us to cross from the darkness of beginnings to the expanse of light, and from the silence of attempts to the radiance of achievement, appreciating the role that the United Arab Emirates plays in nurturing creative people and opening horizons. In front of their projects.

He extended his thanks and gratitude to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah in appreciation of his generous hands and continuous giving and his constant support for culture and literature, which contributed to consolidating the position of the Emirate of Sharjah as a beacon of thought and creativity, praising the role of the Department of Culture for its sincere dedication and their continuous efforts in embracing creativity and nurturing creators.
