Under the patronage of Sultan Al Qasimi, the opening of the Sharjah Desert Theater Festival tomorrow

Sharjah, December 12 / WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the activities of the eighth session of the Desert Theater Festival will begin tomorrow and continue until December 17 in the Cave area in Sharjah.

The festival opens with the new theatrical work of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, entitled “The Robe Stained with Blood,” which embodies, through three chapters, an aspect of the biography of the Arab poet Bishr bin Awana, highlighting his courage, pride, passion, strength of his statement, and eloquence of his tongue, based on the dramatic situation behind the scenes. His request to marry his cousin Fatima, as told in his poem entitled “If I witnessed a stomach that would be hidden.”

Many local and Arab actors, most notably Ahmed Al Jasmi, Malak Al Khalidi, Ahmed Al Omari, Abdullah Masoud, and Ahmed Abdel Razzaq, will participate in diagnosing the show, which will be presented by the Sharjah National Theater Band, and directed by Mohammed Al Ameri, in addition to dozens of performers, riders, and lighting and sound technicians. .

The festival activities will continue, as on the second day the audience will witness the Tunisian play “Qasr Al-Thara”, prepared and directed by Hafez Khalifa, and performed by the Art of the Two Banks Troupe, and on the third day the Kingdom of Jordan will participate in a play entitled “Al-Deira” by the Raf Performing Arts Troupe. The text of the play was written by Wissam Al-Braihi and directed by it. Muhammad Al-Damour.

Under the title “Al-Zeina” comes the Egyptian show presented on the fourth day of the festival by the Studio 77 band, written by Mohamed Amin Abdel Samad and directed by Adel Hassan. On the last day, the Mauritanian show “Al-Hakim” is presented, which is embodied by the Ihya Dance Troupe, written and directed. Ask Abdel Fattah, and each presentation is followed by a critical discussion that analyzes its content and discusses its visions and style.

In the cultural program accompanying the festival, which was founded in 2015, there is an intellectual debate that takes place on December 14 and 15. This session comes under the title “Desert Theater… Experience and Awareness,” and aims to shed light on the impact that the festival’s experience has had on the Arab theatrical scene. From both a practical and theoretical perspective, with the participation of Muhammad Al-Amiri, Abdullah Masoud “Emirates”, Hafez Khalifa, and Nizar Al-Saeedi. “Tunisia”, Dalia Hammam, Adel Hassan “Egypt”, Muhammad Al-Damour “Jordan”, and Sally Abdel Fattah “Mauritania”.
