After meeting with Zuckerberg, Meta donates one million dollars to Trump’s inauguration

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, announced that it has donated $1 million to President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration fund.
The donation comes just weeks after Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg met Trump at Mar-a-Lago. A Meta spokesman confirmed the donation on Thursday.

Trump’s economic plans

Stephen Miller, who was appointed deputy White House chief of staff during Trump’s second term, said Zuckerberg, like other business leaders, wants to support Trump’s economic plans.
Zuckerberg seeks to change his company’s perception of the right-wing movement after the tense relationship with Trump. Trump’s account on the Facebook application was deleted after the attack on the US Capitol building on January 6, 2021. The company restored Trump’s account in early 2023.

Trump’s inauguration ceremony

During the 2024 presidential campaign, Zuckerberg did not endorse any presidential candidate, but expressed a more positive stance toward Trump. Earlier this year, Zuckerberg praised Trump’s handling of his first assassination attempt.
Trump was shot in the ear, one person was killed, and two others were wounded when a gunman shot Trump from a nearby roof during a campaign event in July in Pennsylvania.
Trump was also subjected to another attempt in September when he was on a golf course in Florida. His campaign team stated that the Republican presidential candidate was safe after the shooting.
