The Academy of Arts launches the activities of the Performing Arts Festival…the fourth session at the Samer Theater

Dr. Ghada Jabbara: The festival’s performances reflect the students’ ability to blend the past and the present
Within the Ministry of Culture’s support for various events and activities Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, Dr. Ghada Jabbara, President of the Academy of Arts, witnessed the opening ceremony of the Performing Arts Festival – The fourth session, which is held under the supervision of Professor Dr. Samar Saeed, Dean of the Higher Institute of Folk Arts.
This year’s festival session bears the name of the late theater director. Salah Al-Saqqa is one of the most prominent contributors to the establishment of puppet theaters in the Arab world.
Dr. Jabbara confirmed, We celebrate annually the launch of the creativity of our students participating in the fourth session of the Performing Arts Festival, which represents a distinctive model of integration between the many disciplines of folk arts.
She added that the performances presented in this festival express About the creativity of our students and their ability to combine the past and the present, and we are honored that this course bears the name of a great artistic figure like the able director Salah. Al-Saqqa.
It is worth noting that many workshops are held on the sidelines of the festival presented by experts in theater and its performing arts, including an acting workshop by the artist Mohamed Siraj, a text analysis workshop by the artist Mohamed Al-Soury, The Egyptian dialects workshop is presented by Dr. Ibrahim Hefny, and finally a workshop on designing performances by Dr. Mahmoud Salah.
The Performing Arts Festival will be held during the period From December 15 to 20 at the Samer Theater in Agouza, under the artistic supervision of Professor Dr. Walaa Mohamed, Raed of the Artistic Committee, the artist Ahmed Al-Bohi, the honorary president of the festival, Hassan Ali, the festival director, and the student Amr Mahrous, the festival’s general coordinator.
