Closing of the 6th Sharjah Kalba Arabian Horse Festival

Sharjah, December 16 / WAM / The activities of the sixth edition of the Sharjah Kalba Arabian Horse Festival, which was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, concluded yesterday evening on the Kalba Corniche beach for three days, organized by the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club, in cooperation. With the Emirates Arabian Horse Association.
The festival witnessed the participation of 242 Arab horses over 12 rounds, half of which were the main rounds, competing to win the gold, silver and bronze titles for colts and fillies aged from one to three years.
The closing of the festival was attended by Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Office of His Highness the Ruler in the city of Kalba, Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid Al Qasimi, President of the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club, Dr. Ghanem Al Hajri, Secretary General of the Emirates Equestrian Federation, Sultan Muhammad Khalifa Al Yahyai, Director General of the Club, Hashem Al Bairaq, Vice President of the Municipal Council in Kalba, and Dr. Ahmed Saeed Al Mazrouei, Director of the Municipality of Kalba City, along with a number of dignitaries.
The results of the festival on its closing day resulted in the distribution of gold, silver and bronze cups to many studs and owners, led by Smajd Stud with two gold cups, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid Al Qasimi’s horses winning a gold cup, three silver cups, a bronze cup, a gold cup for Dubai Stud, a gold cup for Khalifa Abdullah Al Nuaimi, and the same for Rashid Ghanem. Al-Hajri.
The filly “ES Hind” by Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid Al Qasimi won the gold cup in the year-old filly race, the silver cup was won by the filly “Aryam Barqa” by Sheikh Hazza bin Hamdan bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the bronze cup was won by the filly “MK Ghazal” for its owner Mohsen Hussein Amara. .
The filly “Sheikha Barakat” for its owner Rashid Ghanem Al Hajri won the gold cup for two-year-old fillies, the silver cup for the filly “Mayoula Al Zubair” for Sheikh Abdullah Muhammad Ali Al Thani, and the bronze cup for the filly “Wojoud Al Bahia” for Ras Al Khaimah Stud.
The Dubai Stud’s filly “De Asra” won the gold cup for three-year-old fillies, the silver cup for the filly “AS Mizan” by Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid Al Qasimi, and the bronze cup for the filly “MK Nefertiti” for its owner Amr Mohsen Hussein.
The colt “Perseus Vittorio SG” by Samjad Horse Stud won the gold cup in the one-year-old colts race, the silver cup for the colt “ES Abreeze” by Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid Al Qasimi, and the bronze cup for the colt “Ramaj Al Badayer” by Sheikh Mohammed Saud Sultan Saqr Al Qasimi.
The colt “MZ Adeeb”, owned by Khalifa Abdullah Al-Nuaimi, also won the gold cup for two-year-old colts, the silver cup for the colt “Shams Al-Hawajer”, owned by Ghanem Al-Hajri, and the bronze cup, “Kahil Al-Remas”, for the Al-Remas Stud.
The colt “HA Extra” by Samjad Horse Stud was crowned with the Gold Cup for three-year-old colts, the Silver Cup for the colt “Nibras Al-Hawajer” owned by Mohammed Butti Al-Abdouli, and the Bronze Cup for the colt “AS Rayan” owned by Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid Al-Qasimi.
Sultan Muhammad Khalifa Al Yahyai’s honoring of the festival’s rulers, departments, institutions and sponsoring companies, which comes annually, reflects the festival’s organizing committee’s keenness to honor the rulers and sponsors with commemorative shields.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid Al Qasimi praised the distinguished launch of the sixth edition of the Sharjah Kalba Arabian Horse Festival, which was held under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, with the aim of spreading this sport in all regions of the Emirate of Sharjah.
He expressed his happiness with the large participation, which reinforces the importance of the presence of young horses and meets the desires of owners and breeders, especially after this age group has witnessed a wide spread in the country, pointing out that this edition was allocated for fillies and colts only and for young people to enhance local production.
